Kenya eTA / Visa requirements for El Salvador citizens

The Kenyan Authorities have recently changed their entry requirements. Previously, you would have been required to apply for an e-visa before arrival. They have now replaced this with an ETA, which still needs to be applied for before you arrive in the country.

Citizens with Salvadoran passports can now apply for an eTA to visit Kenya by filling out an online application form.

The implementation of the Kenya eTA system allows Salvadoran nationals to request an electronic travel authorization (ETA) via an online platform, allowing them to avoid all formalities that were previously used to obtain a eTA to Kenya, such as visiting embassies and waiting long periods for approval.

The Kenya evisa application can be completed from anywhere in the world and will only require the Salvadoran national to answer personal questions and submit important documents.

  • Valid passport: Salvadoran citizens are required to hold a valid passport with 6 months of validity starting from the date they enter the country.
  • The Salvadoran national needs to submit digital copies of his or her passport, including biographical and cover pages, to the Kenya e-visa application form. When entering Kenya, the passport should have at least two blank pages.
  • Return flight ticket – this indicates that you intend to return to your country of origin before your visa expires.
  • Proof of accommodation – It is sufficient to have a hotel reservation confirmation or an invitation letter from your Kenyan host.
  • A valid email address- If you apply online, you will receive your visa in PDF format via email. Remember to print at least one physical copy before leaving.
  • A recent passport photo of the applicant that was taken within the last 06 months.

If you have dual citizenship and multiple passports, you must travel to Kenya with the same passport you used to fill out the application form. This is due to the fact that an e-visa for Salvadoran citizens is electronically linked to a single passport.
