Mozambican citizens are exempted from Kenya e-Visa
The Kenya Government recently introduced the e-Visa (or electronic visa) that allows citizens of eligible countries to apply for a Kenya e-Visa online. With an eVisa, travelers can enter Kenya for many purposes such as sightseeing, tourism, transit, and business. More than 150 countries in the world can use an e-Visa to travel to Kenya, while 44 countries are visa-exempt, including Mozambique.
Mozambican citizens are exempted from Kenya e-Visa for 90 days
In a meeting between the two leaders in Maputo, President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique and President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya have agreed to abolish visas for short-term trips, and business visits between the two countries. This decision is made based on the situation that the two countries are cooperating to facilitate business travel and strengthen economic exchange. The new visa policy is good news for Mozambican citizens as now they can have short trips to Kenya without preparing complicated documents.
From now on, Mozambique passport holders are on the exemption list for an e Visa to Kenya within 90 days. Following that, Mozambique citizens who want to stay in Kenya for less than 90 days do not need an e-Visa to enter the country. A Visa is only required when Mozambican tourists remain in Kenya longer than 90 days. In addition, children below the age of 16 years old are allowed to enter the nation without presenting a valid visa.
